If I go around spreading the message that Mexico has the moral authority to militarily occupy and reclaim what has become the American Southwest, and I get scrutinized for it?

That wouldn't be inherently racist.

Any possible historical validity of my claim doesn't change the fact that I wouldn't be getting attacked because I'm Mexican-- I'd be getting attacked for being a Reconquistadora.

Which is not to say some of my detractors wouldn't be racists. Rising tides of racist rhetoric is absolutely a problem in modern society.

It's just not every problem.
